Hello again everyone! Well the big news, as you no doubt have heard by now, is that I took home the 2010 Eisner Award in the category of “Best Digital Comic” for my work on Sin Titulo. I was genuinely pretty surprised, I was up against some pretty stiff competition. I’ll include a part of my (ad-libbed) acceptance speech here, because it really is worth repeating: I’d like to thank all of my TX Comics friends and colleagues. Without them I’d have never started Sin Titulo and it’s their excellent work that kept me inspired and motivated. The award belongs as much to them as it does to me.
Thanks again for everyone’s patience with my erratic updates, the next few weeks should be fairly regular however, for the duration of this flashback.

Well congratulations … and welcome back!

Congrats on the Eisner. You earned it.
August 1st, 2010 at 8:43 am
It certainly took them long enough to give you that thing!
This is kind of like winning an Oscar or a Golden Globe, isn’t it?
I hope you have a big shelf that can handle this and all the other awards!

“It was the best night I don’t remember” Love this sentence ! Being in Paris right now, I wish I could meet me some Aurélie too ! ^^ Except if she’s not what she seems to be…

Congratulations! This is well deserved.

Congratulations! Fantastic work.

Congrats on the Eisner! You deserve it!

Congrats Mr. Stewart – well deserved . I’ve liked the different tenor that you have brought to TX. More of a “Real Life” as apposed to a Comic-strip World . Which is not to say that I haven’t enjoyed each and every artist in the TX gallery . Looking forward to your continued development of the story line.

The Eisner is well deserved, this comic is a real slow burn that provides quality with every strip. And I can now say I fund an Eisner winner (as you can see below, I’ve put my money where my mouth is and given a small donation in the past).
This strip is great, you world build very quickly with only a few words and a careful selection of chosen images. Very well done.

Best webcomic in the Universe. Well deserved and, probably, a sign of further recognition to come.

So the Eisner is actually what got me interested in sin titulo, I have already reccomended this to many of my friends. Pure gold, but just like when I caught up with Lost on the final season, I actually have to wait to read the next panels, but it will be worth it! Great work man, keep it up!
August 2nd, 2010 at 1:16 pm
man! you can take all the time you need, as long you keep such a nice work, congratulations again in your award,..i loved this flash back… nice work!!! btw, which program do use to do the strip?
regards from Mexico!

Seems that my comment was censored
Congrats for your Eisner anyway…
August 2nd, 2010 at 4:06 pm
Congratulations, as many have said above, very well deserved.
I’m also commenting just because your artwork is usually so strong. There may be a perspective error in the fifth panel. Your eye level appears to be above the narrator, Alex’s, head. He’s clearly taller than Aurelie, and yet you see her shoulders sloping downward, as if the horizon line were below them. Perhaps I’m missing something, but if not you may want to edit that. Should be a quick fix.

Completely deserved. Congratulations!

@Abdiel “The lineart is drawn in Manga Studio 4 with a Wacom Cintiq 12WX Tablet, and coloured with Photoshop.” from the description of a video Cam uploaded to youtube of him creating a Sin Titulo drawing for a strip.
As for me, I am looking forward to seeing how this flashback will have relevance to the current day story, perhaps it is Aurelie who has walked in on Alex after his shower.

When does he update the comic? Is it on a regular basis? If so, when?
August 4th, 2010 at 10:04 am
@Shane – Sin Titulo typically updates on Sundays, but unfortunately I have given up promises of updating on a regular basis, as my life is too busy and I have too much contract work for me to always have enough free time. I do try my best, and whenever possible I get a page done, but this is a completely personal project and so it is in my own interests that I don’t stress myself out by rushing it to get it done for a “deadline” that is for no one but myself. I’m very grateful to the readers who understand this and are patient with my erratic updates. The best thing to do would be to add ST to your RSS feed if you have one.
@Jaymes – thanks for the suggestion, but Sin Titulo is also a series of personal exercises for me, one of which is to allow myself to be comfortable with less-than-perfect artwork, as long as the storytelling is clear. I always try to resist going back and redrawing relatively minor mistakes. The error you mention doesn’t really affect the story so I’m leaving it. :p
And thanks to everyone else for the congratulations and kind words!

Thank you for being back! I got hooked by SIN TITULO last week and I was missing my dose since then…
August 4th, 2010 at 11:55 am
I set up an rss feed specifically for Sin Titulo, it is that worthy!
lol. You’re awesome and not only are you giving me something to read cause I’m too poor for real comics, you’ve sparked my interest back in drawing, with your homemade but still heartfelt art
August 4th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
@constantine , thank you very much for your response, i will give a try to that software, im also working with a cintiq 12wx, and at home a have a wacom intuos3… i will search the vid on the tube
August 5th, 2010 at 12:10 am
For one moment, I thought he was gonna “eh… no, thanks” her, but no!
And, congratz for the Eisner
August 5th, 2010 at 8:30 am
@Abdiel, it’s no problem, Just searching Cameron Stewart should bring up some video’s he did of him drawing Batman and Catwoman if my memory serves me correct, then it’s just finding the vid in his page.
August 5th, 2010 at 9:43 am
“Current page” – nooo! I was reading this for 2 days without stop aaand I’ll continue )
Many congrats with Eisner – you deserve it

Ehem… Aurélie screams “i’m a Zooey Deschanel character” from every single pore of her skin
August 14th, 2010 at 2:47 pm
Congratulations..I really like the story. You should start thinking about making a movie out of it. Or a TV series. It’s a good story. think about it.
August 23rd, 2010 at 3:32 pm
Felicitations, encore!

I received 1 st credit loans when I was 25 and that supported my relatives a lot. However, I require the secured loan over again.
