I read this stupidly the first time…some how I skipped the fourth panel. Upon opening my eyes, I saw what I’d missed. Confusion gone. I look forward to next Sunday and the continuation.
I’m very frustrated with how the main character is reacting to these events. Someone just exploded in front of him, or so he imagines, and he dashes off to his wife and is all, “problem?” YEAH THERE’S A PROBLEM, DUDE! PEOPLE ARE EXPLODING AFTER TELEPHONE CALLS AND PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU APPARENTLY MURDERED POLICE THAT WERE NEVER AROUND WHEN BLOOD WAS SPILLED! WHAT DO YOU MEAN “WHAT’S WRONG?”
It’s becoming more and more like our reasonable, deeply-designed hero has suddenly flipped into an increasingly flat, unreceptive villain. I would be flipping my wig if I was bearing witness to people exploding. I’d be absolutely sure I was going crazy.
I’m understanding this guy’s “current thoughts” a little bit on the second view. His sudden reaction to her girlfriend is “Ooh! I see her! I must make up with her!” When her girlfriend is reacting much more reasonably to it all. I really hope she doesn’t just run after the phone, although it would be wise based off of this guy. I’d like to see how she reacts to his wild but true perspective.
If I was this guy I would be questioning my life big time. All of this time, he could still be drugged by that event a couple pages back.

There seems to be some momentum building here after the little interlude a few weeks ago.
Excited? You bet I am.

@Tony
So I take it you missed the strip where he was freaking out in the car then.

@Tony:
Those cops were killed a while ago. The cop killling isn’t a new thing that’s only just now coming up in this strip.
