Hiatus, Part 2
Sorry everyone, I thought I could do it but I can’t. I had intended to be free enough to be able to return to working on Sin Titulo by December but the post-Europe rush combined with the impending holidays makes it impossible. I could do a strip this week but there’s zero chance I’d have one for next week or the week after so it makes it sort of pointless to start up again until I can maintain a reasonably steady update schedule.
As frustrating as this might be for you the readers, I promise you it’s more frustrating for me to have the flow of writing interrupted, and while I could try to force myself to rush them out for the sake of having one done every week, that really defeats the purpose of why I started this strip – I wanted to do something personal and creatively satisfying for myself, and cranking them out to meet “deadlines” is the last thing I want to do.
I also promise you that I’m not abandoning the strip – I’ve had significant interest from both domestic and foreign publishers and it’s given me more motivation than ever to finish the story. I just need a little more time to get back into it.
The silver lining is that all of the work that I have been doing for Disney and DC that has kept me from working on Sin Titulo has left me financially stable enough that I’ve decided that once I wrap up Batman & Robin in February, I will start work on Sin Titulo again and work ONLY on that until it is finished. Once I am working on it daily I will probably increase the frequency of the web updates, and my goal is to have the book finished, printed, and on sale by late 2010.
Once again I apologize for this, but it’s really my only option. Thanks to everyone for the support thus far and we’ll be back in February.
Happy holidays to everyone.

That’s cool, man.
You have a plan. That gives you one up on the majority of webcomic creators!

Dude, no need to apologize. You just told us that you plan to work on it full time and that you have plans for a book. This is good news.

Thanks for the update! Your plans sound great, I don’t mind to wait, especially if it means Sin Titulo will get your undivided attention once you get back to it. Can’t wait to see where the comic is going, I bet it will be amazing.
(hmmm, contradicted myself there, didn’t I? Let’s say I CAN wait for the continuation, but I’m looking forward to it like crazy)

No worries! I hope the remainder of your year is fantastic!

Thank you for the update! It’s good to hear you’ll still be picking this up (and in fact carrying it further than I dared to hope), I doubt anyone would hold actually working for a living against you.
And your other work, can’t wait to see it all complete! Take care of yourself!

Take time as you need and let your creativity keep flowing! Happy Holidays!

Take all the time you need to finish off Sin Titulo the way you want to see it finished! I’m delighted to know that more updates are coming, and I’ll happily wait to see the ending you have envisioned. I’m hooked too deeply to do anything else.
There are few easier ways to kill the passion for a labor-of-love project than with self-imposed deadlines. The most important thing is that you don’t lose your passion for it!

I am glad you are putting quality first, Cameron. In an industry often driven by commercial interests and instincts, it’s good to see that an artist can buck the trend. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. It’s been an amazing head trip so far.

I agree with everyone else, take your time. You’re telling a great high quality story on your time and on your own dime, I can certainly wait a few more weeks for you to start again.

Wow… I started reading yesterday, and couldn’t stop for anything – I am so looking forward to when the updates begin again, whenever that is, and I do fully support that it’s your time and effort, and I’m just glad I get to read the fruits of your labour.

I’d much rather know you are financially stable and have a good solid run of posts that flow together than have an interrupted series of weeks with writing breaks all over the place. Take your time, we’ll be here!
Thanks for providing entertainment to us for free, by the way.

Just knowing there will be more is all the news I need. *dances*

Book by late 2010? Awesome! Thanks for the update, by the way. Also, can you just give us a clue as to how awesome your arc on B&R is going to be? From 1-10?
January 10th, 2010 at 3:14 am
Thanks for the update. For my part, I prefer the story to end satisfactory to having regular updates. And I will definitly buy the graphic novel!
January 11th, 2010 at 11:50 pm
All in good time as they say. We’ll still be here when you’re ready.
January 12th, 2010 at 12:19 am
Still checking in, still hopeful … and still patient. Looking forward to its return!

I’d rather you wait and then devote your full attention to it, then release it in sporadic bursts. That’s painful for both you and us! Can’t wait until the strip is back…
