Hiatus

sintitulohiatus

Hi everyone, unfortunately I’m having to take a bit of a break from Sin Titulo for the next few weeks – I’ve been snowed under with work on Prince of Persia and Batman & Robin, and I’m about to leave on a signing tour in Europe and the UK very soon. I literally have no free time and so I’m officially suspending Sin Titulo until I get back into a more comfortable schedule in December. Huge apologies, I know I’m leaving this at a suspenseful moment but hopefully that will just provide you with incentive to come back when I start the strip up again.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding and see you in December!

    SON of a. :(

Do what you gotta do, but WOW I want to see the next page.

You unmitigated swine, sir! You calculating cur! You were planning this all along, admit it!

Seriously though, thanks for 89 weeks of an excellent story, spot on artwork and plenty of thrills & downright unsettling moments. December isn’t that far off. Best of luck and enjoy the trip this side of the Atlantic!

I can wait for 2 months if it means we get to see your great stuff in the comics pages. Have fun in Europe (damn, I can’t make it to Lille or Paris!).

  8. Brett

Good luck to you. I’m thrilled you are getting some serious work that will help fund further amazing strips of Sin Titulo.

  9. Nina

And how much did the Brits pay you for separating the UK from Europe? ;-)

I see what you did there… Go on “hiatus” after doing an intense page.

    Ah! No!

Sort of funny how after you win an award for your web comic over people who take their comics serious and are commited to their fans that your going on “hiatus”. Im not doubting your busy what Im trying to say is maybe the award should have went to people who are more loyal to their fans.

  14. Cameron

Well you know “John,” I very much appreciate the award but I’d like to think that it’s an award that’s given for the quality of the writing and the artwork that’s already been produced, and not for whether or not I go on a short break. I appreciate any and all readers of this strip, and am extremely grateful for the continued support, but the reality of the situation is that I do not get paid to do this, and, and I have a greater obligation to my contracted employers, who are providing me with money, which I use not only to pay for rent and groceries but also allows me a certain amount of time and freedom to continue to do this strip, which I provide to you for free.

Whatever it is you do for a living, whether you work as an illustrator or as a doctor or selling shoes, take a moment and imagine that for one day a week you decide that you will do it for free. 8-10 hours of doing what you normally get paid to do, but you are sacrificing the payment (and the social life) and doing the work out of generosity. Now imagine someone having the gall to complain about it, complaining that you don’t spend more time illustrating or healing people or selling them shoes for free, complaining that you’re being disloyal or ungrateful because the extra work you are doing and giving away for nothing is briefly interrupted. What would you think of that? Would you be happy with that? Or would you think the person who is complaining is being unfair?

I have given up so much free time to do this strip. I have made myself sick by working long hours and getting run down. I have missed many social engagements with friends or have had romantic relationships break down because I have chosen to spend long hours at my studio working. I have piled a lot of unnecessary stress on myself. Frankly it’s a wonder that I’ve done as much of it as I have, and I’ve done it for people like you, who read this strip and think nothing of the time or effort that is involved in producing it. And I will continue to do it FOR FREE, because I choose to do so as a thank-you for the people who do appreciate it.

It’s unfortunate timing – I’m very aware of this – that I’m taking a break right after I win the award but I have no choice. It’s literally impossible for me to do it until I return from Europe. Deal with it or not, choose to continue reading when I return or never come back to this website again, it’s your choice, but don’t you dare call me disloyal.

i looove you work. thank you for the exquisiteness.
and ‘stamos’ was obviously a chump not worthy of a response.
however if you are not producing this primarily for your own creative benefit,
but some illusionary, altruistic gesture of magnanimous devotion,
you may want to reconsider your own motivation/inspiration.
all the best on your professional endeavours, and december
    is awaited with bated breath.

Stuff is not too shabby; just gives me one less thing to be depressed about when December rolls around.
    Thanks.

Love the strip. Can’t wait for it’s return in December! BTW, at this point, have you thought of collecting it and selling, perhaps as a first volume?

  18. Christian

    Well,
this is a very impressive work for a webcomic. Keep it up to this quality and it will be a masterpiece. Reading it to this point felt to me like when reading e.g. Gaiman. Strange encounters and bigtime mysteries. Just got through it and it’s great.

    Cheers from Germany

I’m glad you get to take a break at all. Enjoy it and I’ll look forward to your return in December (or longer if need be). This is a great comic and I can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
    Best,

  20. Justin B.

OK, it’s December!! Anxiously (but as patiently as possible) waiting for the next update. :)

I assume when Cam said December, he meant 2009?

  23. tschill

Umm, December, alright. But which year exactly?
Really sad, that this site is on such a long hiatus. :(

Some time ago, I did need to buy a good car for my firm but I didn’t have enough money and couldn’t buy anything. Thank God my fellow proposed to get the personal loans from banks. Thus, I did that and was happy with my financial loan.
