Hey there everyone, I’m back after a few weeks. I just wanted to take a moment to talk about the infrequency of my updates to this strip. As many of you know in addition to working on this webcomic, I also have quite a busy career in mainstream print comics. At the moment I am working on two major projects, a Prince of Persia graphic novel for Disney Publishing and another very significant project for DC Comics (they tell me I can’t reveal what it is just yet). I do Sin Titulo for my own personal enjoyment and edification, and while I am extremely grateful to those of you who have been kind enough to use the donation button on the right, it’s not enough for me to earn a living from it, and so unfortunately there come times when I must prioritize the work that I get paid to do. This, coupled with the occasional out-of-town comic conventions and events that I attend, means that I’m not always able to get a strip done each week. Since this is also a very personal work for me I would rather not compromise the quality and rush it just for the sake of having one done. I must thank everyone for your patience and tolerance, and fortunately I haven’t received any nasty demanding emails like I’ve seen directed at some of my other colleagues. I love working on Sin Titulo and I absolutely have no desire to abandon it, so don’t worry about that. It’s just not always going to be every week. I’ll try to make the delays as infrequent as I can, however.
Now that’s out of the way, the San Diego Comic Con was a blast this year and thanks to everyone who visited me and said they’ve been reading Sin Titulo, it’s very gratifying to hear that rather than the usual requests to draw Green Lantern. I did a really fun panel called Making Webcomics with Kwanza Johnson and Ron Perazza of Zuda Comics, Molly Crabapple and Kevin Colden, which was recorded and made available to listen to here. Next up is the Toronto Fan Expo at the end of August, so I hope to see some of you there!

“…fortunately I haven’t received any nasty demanding emails like I’ve seen directed at some of my other colleagues.”
Doesn’t that worry you?

The quality of the storytelling and artwork is totally worth the wait, and I’m glad you’ve got other work going for you too. Besides, we’re able to enjoy a breadth of your work this way! I’m excited for the super secret project for DC. Do you have any idea when you’ll be able to leak some details (for example… is it far enough along that you’ll be able to tell me something about it at FanExpo)?

By all means, take your time. I’m dying to know what’s happening next, but there’s something about getting the story as it is created that is uniquely satisfying.
Keep up the great work!

The circular glass view is quite neat. I don’t know why I got a shiver from that 6th panel. The framing perhaps? It’s my first comment, but I’ve been reading for a while. This story is definitely worth the wait!

I’m really going to hate it when beard-guy turns out to be a baddie/hallucination/device for the protagonist’s character development thanks to his untimely crippling and/or death. It’s just going to kill me.

Great comic Cameron, thanks for providing us with it!

It’s well worth the wait and greatly appreciated. Take your time. But we do want to get the printed book some day, so you really should get a move on…

It’s a great strip. We can wait. Don’t listen to the haters!
It’s awesome.
Hello from the Philippines!

I can’t believe someone would send you or anyone who makes a free webcomic nasty demanding emails, I mean you guys are doing this for the love of drawing and story telling. Those people must be some pretty selfish bastards thinking they have any justification for such a thing
August 10th, 2009 at 7:52 am
You’d be surprised. My buddy Ramon has had his share of rude email demanding more free strips. It’s pretty shocking.
I really do feel bad when I miss an update, particularly because I do claim that it’s a weekly strip, but it’s out of line for people to be rude about it. But as I said, I’m really grateful to all of you for your patience. Thanks!

I think its even better when each page emerges at its own rate. To get the whole story all at once would ruin it, because
(1) It would be too much of a good thing.
(2) It is better when you have time to reflect on each page and really admire the work.
(3) Something would be missing, in that this is a dark and spooky mystery. I don’t think I would have the self-control to not flip to the end and find out the secrets.
So there’s nothing for you to apologize for.
This is a terrific story!

The waiting almost extends to the inpatience in wich I am reading the comic.
Off course I can’t wait for every next page. But I enjoy the story and the drawings because it is so damn good. What I am trying to say is that you are excused..

Fanaticism breeds impatience. But fanaticism is precisely what you want.
You want your labors of love to inspire insatiable demand. You want them to have a life of their own so that you can have a life of your own. Sin Titulo is the real deal, my friend. If people complain, you should take it as nothing but a compliment.
How else will you escape the need to peddle your talents for soulless slavers like DC? Green Lantern is a worn coin. Your pen and your talent belong outside of those tired soap operas.
Print or perish.

take your time man, its worth the wait when it comes along and I would hate to see you stop the story just because you couldn’t update at a specific time!
August 12th, 2009 at 5:50 am
Yes Cameron, more Sin Titulo, it feels like an age since we last saw an update but you’ve obviously got stuff on your plate…take your time dude, just gives us a chance to hang on longer doesn’t it? love the suspense in this comic mate, keep it up!
August 13th, 2009 at 4:35 am
Hey!
I really appreciate to be able to see all your work.
The wait in no way dimmishes the joy of a new strip, and I eagerly await the next one.
Keep up the work & good luck with your other projects!
Greetings from Sweden!

Personally I don’t care if takes weeks inbetween pages. It’s fucking free and fucking awesome. Have fun Cameron and thank you.

It’s true that the wait can become a little dispiriting. Though, the quality of this comic warrants the wait, I think many people confuse this comic with others on the internet. Where all comics (or most) are free, many of them use advertising in addition to the donation buttons to produce in come. Which means that people taking time out of their day to visit the page does help the author/artist of those comics. And thus they feel justified in complaining.
This, website, though, has no ads. So, if it’s any consolation, I’m glad you’re doing this at all. We need more professional artists creating web comics. You set the bar high.

After having read all of this in one go I have to say it would make an excellent David Lynch film.
I’m thinking you should release it in print along with the movie, so that you get both at once.
…I just can’t stop thinking of it as a storyboard waiting to be filmed.
Keep up the good work!
