Came here just now from "The Less Than Epic Adventures of TJ and Amal," reading it all in one go despite the time being after 2 AM...

OH GOD, THE LAST PANEL.

I've been hooked on the archive since I started reading an hour or so ago, and I've jumped here and there to be sure, but I actually cannot handle looking at that last panel right now for more than a second or two. Reminds me somewhat of some of the unexpected demon shots in "Wapsi Square" being just too... INTENSE to look at for more than a flash, but your incredible grip on suspense makes this all the more impossible to handle. Amazing amazing amazing work... I just can't look at that last panel right now at 2:15 AM, no hyperbole.

Somebody mentioned your comic on a comic art forum and I looked it up since I was a fan of your art in The Manhattan Gaurdian. I've read it up to here and plan on catching up. I love it. I agree with what some others had said about the other TX comics; while good they are no where near as intriguing as this one.
About this page: It's crazy how you've associated the paper tearing with that creepy monster thing. It's just a neat little element that adds to the whole mood.

Been a lurker but this strip made me comment. I just want you to know I got goosebumps just seeing the sixth panel. You're great.

So I hope you're happy.
I just had to turn on every light in the house and close the blinds.

Panels 6 and 8: Foot or boner?

YOU decide!

...

This is a cool and creepy twist in the story, and I think I've ruined it for myself.

Mr. Stewart,

I've been following this since I read of the TX debut at Warren Ellis's ENGINE (I believe, though it could have been Rantz's follow up @ Panel 'n Pixel). I just wanted to add my voice to say that I love this comic. From the opening scenes it's been nothing but twists and turns with wondefully emotive art. This installment is no exception. Those final 3 panels really evoke a sense of terror from that eerie sound effect (we've all heard that scratching noise in our walls late at night) to the close up and the monster.

I had once hoped to spotlight this in a column I contributed for the Pulse, but that has gone to the great online archive for now and I am focusing more on my creative writing now. But if I ever get back to showcasing some of the great indy/web comics being produced, I would love to "speak" with you about it.

Anyway. Great stuff. I look forward to adding this to my shelf once it is finished.

Thank you for sharing.
